Lápis das Emoções — Instruction Manual

Creation of Lápis das Emoções (Emotions Pencils), a set of 9 colored pencils inspired by the Inside Out universe, developed as a tool for self-awareness, emotional expression, and inclusion for children. Each pencil corresponds to an emotion — Joy, Sadness, Fear, Envy, Anger, Anxiety, Shame, Boredom, and Disgust — with numbering and accessible language to guide use through drawing.

The project included packaging design, the creation of a playful and accessible instruction manual, and the production of a full Braille version of the manual — ensuring the experience was genuinely inclusive for children with visual impairments.

Challenges

Developing communication that was simple and emotionally warm enough for children, while addressing complex emotions in a healthy and non-stigmatizing way — and then adapting all content to the Braille system without losing the richness of the original narrative.

Results

A complete kit featuring visual identity, packaging, a dual-format instruction manual (print and Braille), and a QR code linking to a video tutorial — a product experience that combines creativity, inclusion, and emotional intelligence in a piece designed for young audiences.
